Quick verdict

Curve Dental and Eaglesoft both sell by quote, so neither page gives you a price to compare. They differ on where the software runs and how long you commit.

Pick Curve Dental if you want a browser-based system with texting and online booking included, a 12-month term and a data download you can run yourself. Pick Eaglesoft if you want the license, upgrades and support bundled into a Patterson plan and are prepared to run a physical Windows server on a 24-month enrollment.

Browser or office server

Curve Dental runs in a browser. It lists general practice, with sizes from startup to DSO. Curve claims 100,000+ active users and 6,000+ practice locations in the US and Canada, which is a vendor claim.

Eaglesoft is from Patterson Dental, part of Patterson Companies. It lists general practice for solo and small-group offices. It needs a physical on-site Windows server, since Patterson does not support running it in a virtual machine. Eaglesoft Mobile is included in every Service Club plan, but full remote access needs a remote-desktop tool.

What each costs

Curve publishes no prices. SelectHub lists a starting price of $99 a month per user. It gives no source or method, and other aggregators show conflicting figures. That is a third-party number, and you should treat it as an estimate.

Patterson publishes no Eaglesoft plan price either. It sells five Service Club plans. Every plan includes the license at no extra cost, free upgrades and unlimited phone, chat and email support. Service Club pricing rose on Oct 1, 2025, and Patterson did not publish the amount.

The tiers differ by discount off the Service Club rate:

A third-party blog estimates Service Club support at $300 to $500 a month and cites no links. Patterson’s one published dollar figure is DoseSpot ePrescriptions at $55 a month per provider, bought separately.

Get a written quote from each vendor, then run the numbers in our cost calculator. Do not compare the $99 and the $300 to $500 directly. One is per user and the other is per office, and neither comes from a vendor.

What is included

Curve records texting and online scheduling as included, and says texting, reminders and patient self-scheduling carry no add-on fee. Eligibility, claims, online forms and e-prescribing are unclear on the pages we checked. Unclear is not the same as missing. Ask Curve for each in writing. Reviewers also report that mobile features need a separate GRO subscription.

Eaglesoft records claims, eligibility, e-prescribing, texting, online forms, recall automation and online scheduling as higher-tier, meaning they come with a Service Club tier. The mobile app, reporting, treatment presentation and imaging bridge are included. Patient financing is an add-on, and card on file is unclear.

Both have native imaging. Curve lists Dexis, Schick, Carestream, Planmeca, Vatech, Apteryx, Sidexis, Romexis and DTX Studio. Eaglesoft lists Dentsply Sirona Sidexis, DEXIS, Planmeca, Air Techniques, Instrumentarium, Soredex, Progeny and Schick. Eaglesoft’s Advanced Imaging has no added imaging fee. Curve reviewers cite weak X-ray viewing.

Integrations

NexHealth lists both Curve Dental and Eaglesoft by Patterson Dental as supported systems and does not publish the connection method.

Beyond that, the lists come from one side only. Patterson lists Weave, RevenueWell, Dental Intelligence and Solutionreach among Eaglesoft’s authorized integrations, and says Dental Intelligence needs Eaglesoft version 18.1 and above. Patterson says claims submit to DentalXChange directly from Eaglesoft, and prices that separately. Vyne Trellis is bundled into the Service Club plans from Starter up.

We found no join row between Curve and any of those tools. That is a gap in our data, not a statement that Curve lacks them. Eaglesoft also lists more than 55 authorized third-party integrations through Patterson Innovation Connection.

Contracts and cancelling

Curve’s term is 12 months from receipt of the first subscription payment. It renews automatically for one-year terms at Curve’s then-current fees. Written notice is due 90 days before the end of the term, per terms updated June 1, 2026. Cancelling before the end of a term means paying the remaining balance of that term. Variable usage fees can change on 30 days’ written notice.

Eaglesoft Service Club plans require a 24-month enrollment. We found no published renewal or notice policy.

Put the Curve notice date on a calendar early. Missing the 90-day window commits you to another year.

Getting your data out

Curve says the practice can download its data at any time from inside the application, in a format compatible with Microsoft Excel. The page does not cover images, documents or access after cancellation, so ask about those before you sign.

Patterson publishes no data export policy or price for leaving Eaglesoft.

Switching between them

Patterson says it has converted practices from more than 250 programs, typically in 4 to 6 weeks. Most imaging software does not support image conversion, so old images stay in the old software. Through Oct 31, 2026, new offices get 50% off an advanced data conversion that Patterson values at $1,000, with imaging conversion excluded. That applies to a practice moving onto Eaglesoft.

Curve publishes no conversion terms in the data we hold. Before moving either way, ask in writing:

Reviews

On Capterra, Curve Dental (Curve Hero) holds 4.4 out of 5 from 285 reviews and Eaglesoft holds 4.1 out of 5 from 157 reviews. These are third-party ratings.

Curve reviewers say new staff learn it quickly and that 24/7 support responds fast. They complain about confusing billing and adjustment workflows, weak X-ray viewing, occasional crashes and slow loading, and mobile features that need a separate GRO subscription.

Eaglesoft reviewers praise ease of use, quick staff training and the color-coded schedule. They complain about hard-to-find and inflexible reports, occasional freezes that need restarts, and only one user at a time in a patient chart.

Capability rows cover the base product or cheapest plan, and each one links the page that claim came from. "Paid add-on" and "higher tier only" mean the vendor sells it separately or puts it in a pricier package. "Unclear" with a source means we read that page and could not establish an answer; "Unclear" with no record means we have not checked that capability on that product. Neither one says the product lacks it. 5 of the 18 capabilities we track are not yet checked on either product, so they have no row here.
