Find the Right Dental Practice Management Software

Find the right dental practice management software

Up to sixteen questions about your practice get you three practice management systems worth a demo, ranked by fit rather than by who pays for placement. A practice that's still opening skips the two questions about its current software and server. The quiz pulls from the same sourced data behind every product profile on the full rankings page: published prices, platform support, contract terms and what's included versus sold as an add-on.

It starts with hard requirements: a Mac-only practice never sees Windows-only server software, an orthodontist doesn't see a general-only product, and a practice that wants to move to the cloud skips software that runs only on a server, whether in the office or hosted. Whatever survives those filters gets scored against your budget, your payer mix, how hard it'd be to leave your current system, and the two things you told us matter most. If you'd rather keep your own server, server-based products score higher and cloud products a little lower, but none are dropped. See the full method on the methodology page, and if you want to model exact costs across a few candidates once you have a shortlist, the TCO calculator runs the multi-year math.

Every result links back to the product's full profile so you can check the numbers yourself before you call anyone.

Frequently asked questions

How does the quiz pick my top 3?
It first drops any product that fails a hard requirement, such as not supporting your specialty, not running on Mac when you need Mac, or not fitting your practice size. It then scores what is left against your budget, payer mix, switching difficulty and the two priorities you picked, and shows the three highest scores. For the budget, it prices each product at the low end of the provider and location ranges you chose, including any charge for extra providers or locations. When two products tie, the one with a vendor-published price ranks higher, then the one that costs less at your size, then the one whose name comes first alphabetically.
Are the prices shown real?
Each estimate is the lowest published monthly price in that product's own listing on this site. It's labeled Vendor-published when the company itself publishes it, and Estimate when it comes from a third-party source. Quote only means no public number exists.
Does the quiz store my answers?
The quiz runs in your browser. We log anonymous, non-identifying summaries (specialty, state, budget band and your top pick) for our own analytics. Nothing here is sold or shared.
Can I retake the quiz?
Yes. Reloading the page starts over, and nothing you enter is saved between visits.
